Track officials and employees are feverishly creating an ice oval and Sno-Cross course for the 54th running of the AMSOIL World Championship Snowmobile Derby in Eagle River Jan. 19-22.

Walter E. Olson Memorial Libary officials in Eagle River were finally able to move forward with an expansion and renovation plan.
Vilas County Board supervisors approved a $10 million expansion project for the courthouse in Eagle River in January and construction began in the fall of 2016. The new two-story wing will add space and bring departments back to the courthouse.
Three Lakes town and library officials discussed alternatives for a new library and community complex for the town, and eventually approved two advisory referendum questions.
