It’s possible walleye bag limits on dozens of North Woods lakes could be increased prior to the Memroial Day weekend May 24-27, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials said Monday.

While tribal spearers are still harvesting walleyes from some lakes in the ceded territory in northern Wisconsin, DNR fishery experts say the walleye spawn is nearly complete and the spring spearing season will soon come to an end.
