It’s time to start those fall patterns

By George Langley
The North Woods is in the full fall period of transition at this point, with some color starting on the landscape and the lake water temperatures again dropping.

Water levels are really low again, and it will stay that way in the absence of much-needed precipitation for the rest of the fall. In general, the fish have been moving around a lot, so patterns are difficult to understand.

With some overnight freezing, there is no insect problem anywhere and it can get really pleasant on some of these sunny days. Let’s enjoy it while we can. Even with some warmer weather, it’ll be cold in the mornings if you go fishing. Dress accordingly.
