Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 277 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.In addition to those with sufficient detail to report below, a review shows at least 14 vehicle accidents, three requests for agency assistance, one ambulance request, six animal problems, two attempts to locate, one report of battery, one burglary, three burglar alarms, three requests for citizen assistance, four reports of criminal damage to property, two reports of disorderly conduct, two disturbances, two reports of domestic violence, one fire, three reports of hazardous conditions, one juvenile problem/runaway, nine reports of suspicious circumstances, four thefts, five traffic violations, five welfare checks, 15 911 hang-ups, five drug problems and two reports of operating while intoxicated.
At least 17 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 17 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least 10 people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including three for disorderly conduct, two for operating while intoxicated, one for operating after revocation and five for probation violation.
During the week, the inmate population ranged from 70 to 79. As of Oct. 29, there were 77 inmates.
Thursday, Oct. 25
- 6:00 a.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Camp Highlands Road near Razorback Road in the town of Plum Lake involving Emmett J. Connery of Sayner.
Tuesday, Oct. 23
- 4:05 p.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway B near Palmer Lake Road in Land O’ Lakes involving Meghan M.?Smith of Boulder Junction.
Eagle River Police
Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 29 calls for the Eagle River Police. These included one 911 hang-up, two vehicle accidents, one burglar alarm, three animal problems, one report of battery, one report of child abuse, one disturbance, one domestic violence complaint, one drug problem, two informational reports, one Huber rules violation, one parking problem, one runaway juvenile, five suspicious circumstances, one theft, one report of shoplifting, two traffic violations, one unsecure premise and one welfare check.
Three Lakes Police
This police department reported two vehicle accidents, two alarms, two requests for agency assistance, one disturbance, one fire, one instance of fraud, two hazards, two house checks, one noise complaint, one warrant pickup, three services, two suspicious circumstances, four thefts, six traffic stops, one instance of trespassing and one violation of court order.
