Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 251 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 19 vehicle accidents, one abandoned vehicle, three requests for an ambulance, five animal problems, three requests for agency assistance, three at­tempts to locate, eight burglar alarms, six requests for citizen assistance, three reports of criminal damage to property, one report of domestic violence, four re­ports of hazardous conditions, two juvenile problems/runaways, one hit-and-run, one report of loitering, one report of lost property, five reports of suspicious circumstances, five thefts, five traffic violations, one vacation check, one weapons offense, six welfare checks, 10 911 hang-ups, five drug problems and five reports of operating while intoxicated.

At least 11 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 21 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least nine people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for possession of paraphernalia, three for operating while intoxicated, two for disorderly conduct, one for possession of THC, one for probation violation and one for bail jumping.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 65 to 73. As of Nov. 5, there were 73 inmates.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 30

- 9:14 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway M near Big Muskellunge Lake Road in Boulder Junction involving Kathleen Gorlewski of Franklin.

- 9:14 p.m. - A two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 45 and Highway 70 in the town of Lincoln involving Marilyn J. Campbell of Eagle?River and Lee L. Arity of Tomah.

 

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 26 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded two vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, one attempt to locate, one attempted burglary, two requests for citizen assistance, one report of criminal damage to property, one report of disorderly conduct, two disturbances, one domestic violence complaint, one gas drive-off, one report of an employee injured on duty, one Lifeline alarm, one noise complaint, one report of operating while intoxicated, one runaway juvenile, one stalking complaint, one report of suspicious circumstances, two thefts, one hazard, one instance of trespassing and one welfare check.

 

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported two vehicle accidents, one alarm, two animal problems, three requests for motorist assistance, one request for agency assistance, one civil matter, one disturbance, one fire, one hazard, 14 house checks, one informational report, one K-9 dispatch, one missing person, one instance of operating while intoxicated, two instances of found property, two instances of reckless driving, three services, one theft and six traffic stops.
