Area muskie anglers waiting for sucker bite

As anglers enter the final phase of fall fishing, they are still blessed with great conditions to get out there for walleyes and muskies.

The conditions are changing on a daily basis as the water temperatures are dropping and we are starting to see the smaller lakes ice up for the winter. The ice on small lakes is not yet safe for fishing, but it sure has gotten guys and gals thinking about that great pastime called ice fishing.  In the absence of real warm weather, it looks like sportsmen and women might be able to both deer hunt and ice fish by Thanksgiving. Let’s hope.
