Mrs. Ruth was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Langlade, the daughter of William and Josephine (née Ramey) Swim.She was employed at Zion Cookie Factory in Zion, Ill., and married Thaddeus Lowell Ruth Jr. Aug. 17, 1946.
Her hobbies included playing cards and board games, reading, word puzzles, baking and crocheting.
Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband June 14, 1997 in Eagle River; her parents; one son, Timothy; two sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Bontrager and Virginia Delrymple; four brothers, Arthur, Malcom “Mick,” Omar and Charles; and one sister-in-law, Wanzell Adams.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda of Sturgeon Bay, Roseann (Wesley) Dubrock of Alpha and Beth (Scott Wieland) of Surgeon Bay; two sons, Lowell (JoMae) and Theodore (Lisa) of Mosinee; four sisters, Myrt Rich of Eagle River, Faye Richter of Alpha, Millie Hall of Alabama and Barbara Bain of Mississippi; two brothers, Oscar of Arkansas and Gary; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River. Burial will be in Eagle River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Friends of Autism.
