Letter to the Editor: I completely agree with Bill Green’s letter of Nov. 14, opposing the methods used to hunt bear and wolf.I immediately had the same opinion when I?saw a picture of a “brave hunter”?smiling next to a dead bear. Disgusting as it is, someone please explain to me what sport there is in bear hunting. What pleasure is derived out of allowing a pack of dogs to run down a bear, tree it and the “big game hunter”?shoots it up in the tree. Sounds real dangerous and sporting doesn’t it? Not to mention the bear has usually been baited all summer so the hunters know exactly where it will be. Are there others out there who feel similar to Mr. Green and myself??And by the way, I’m not anti-hunting or gun shy since I am a Vietnam combat veteran and have seen worse.
