Daniel Athey, 33, Krakow, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, 2012, at a Green Bay hospital, with his wife and mom and other family at his side.

The son of Raymond and Rosie (Kasper) Athey was born April 3, 1979, in Flint­ville, and was a 1998 graduate of Pulaski High School.

On May 10, 2003, he married his high school sweetheart, Jessica Stender. The couple made their home in Kunesh and moved to Krakow in 2008.

He had been employed as a cabinet worker at Valley Cabinet, De Pere. He loved woodworking; his work was meticulous.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and canning. He also enjoyed riding his Harley with the sidecar.

He especially loved spending time with Jessica and their son, Hudson.

Dan is survived by Jessica and Hudson; his parents, Ray and Rosie Athey, Conover; one brother and two sisters, Dave (Dee) Athey, Little Suamico, Michelle Athey, Chase, and Heather Athey, Chase; grandmother, Barbara Athey, Suamico; Jessica’s parents, Craig and Linda Stender, Kunesh; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laura (Tracy) Platten, Green Bay, Jonathan (Tanya) Stender, Pulaski, and Joseph (Amanda) Stender, Kunesh; two nephews, Jack and James Stender; Jessica’s paternal grandmother and maternal grandfather, Ione Stender, Kunesh, and Dallas Bierhals, Pulaski; aunts and uncles, other relatives and many friends.

Dan was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julia Rose Athey, on Nov. 8, 2012; paternal grandfather, Milton “Pete” Athey; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Lotti Kasper; Jessica’s grandparents, John Stender and Eleanor Bierhals.
