Donations to Warm The Children, a program sponsored by the Vilas County News-Review to provide winter clothing for needy children, have now reached approximately 54% toward its 2012 fundraising goal, according to News-Review Publisher Kurt Krueger.

“We need to collect an additional $29,689 in donations in order to meet our goal of $65,000,” he said.

People donate for many different reasons, according to Sharina Adams, program coordinator.

“In the past, for example, we have received donations from foundations and matching-funds programs,” she said. “People also donate in memory or in honor of loved ones.

“We are very thankful for every donation, no matter how large or small.”
