Joanne Splinter of Sugar Camp, formerly of Oak Creek, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rhine­lander. She was 75.

Mrs. Splinter was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Cudahy, the daughter of Leonard and Violet Albrecht.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Trinity Hospital in Cudahy. She has been a resident of Sugar Camp for the past 17 years. 

Her hobbies included reading, baking and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robbie; and an infant daughter.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bob; a son, Dan of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Terri VandeVelde of Muskego; a brother, Leonard (Dorothy) Albrecht of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Susan (Nancy Desmond) Albrecht of Newport, Minn.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at gaffney-busha.com.­

Oh, Bob, how sorry we were to hear, today 12/18, of Joanne's passing!! Please let us know when you have the memorial service.

You know we enjoyed being with both of you and, of course, the most fun was during our dartball years!

Accept our sympathy and know we still care about you. Come back to senior lunch one day as well.
