Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 135 complaints were entered by the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week as of Friday evening.
In addition to those with sufficient detail to report below, a review shows at least 10 vehicle accidents, two requests for agency assistance, two attempts to locate, five
burglar alarms, two requests for citizen assistance, one report of domestic violence, one report of found property, two reports of hazardous conditions, eight reports of suspicious circumstances, four thefts, three traffic violations, one weapons offense, two welfare checks, three 911 hang-ups and two drug problems.
At least 17 calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 17 informational or procedural entries.
Last week up to Friday, at least 12 people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including four for probation violation, one for delivery of THC, four for disorderly conduct, two for operating after revocation and one for operating while intoxicated.
Last week up to Friday, the inmate population ranged from 57 to 62. As of Dec. 20, there were 60 inmates.

- 8:25 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Airport Road near Marsha Lane in Arbor Vitae involving William J. Nienaber of Arbor Vitae.
- 2:15 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 70 near County O in St. Germain involving Ted A. Ritter of St.?Germain.
- 1:49 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Rangeline Road near Deerskin Road in the town of Washington involving Spencer E. Bolte of Eagle River.
- 1:15 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Mattke Road near Hall Road in Arbor Vitae involving Charles C. Habeck of Arbor Vitae.
