Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 186 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 13 vehicle accidents, one abandoned vehicle, two requests for an ambulance, three requests for agency assistance, two at­tempts to locate, 12 burglar alarms, nine requests for citizen assistance, two disturbances, one fire, one re­port of hazardous conditions, two juvenile problems/runaways, one hit-and-run, two reports of fraud, three reports of suspicious circumstances, two thefts, four traffic violations, two reports of trespassing, three welfare checks, nine 911 hang-ups, one parking problem and one gas drive-off.

At least 12 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least six informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least 15 people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including one for trespassing, four for obstructing justice, four for probation violations, four for operating while intoxicated, one for operating after revocation, three for criminal damage to property and one for disorderly conduct.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 53 to 60. As of Dec. 28, there were 53 inmates.


Monday, Dec. 24

- 1:00 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported in the St.?Germain Pharmacy parking lot involving Carla M. Walls of St.?Germain.

Sunday, Dec. 23

- 12:20 a.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Illinois Street at Sherburn Road involving Kristopher V. Trollan of Eagle?River, who was cited for operating under the influence and speeding.

Friday, Dec. 21

- 6:00 p.m. - A?two-vehicle accident was reported on Highway W near Wahoo Road in Manitowish Waters involving Donald A. Welch of Schofield and Nora E. Joseph of Chicago, Ill.
