|Ice conditions improve across North Woods|
By George Langley
North Woods lakes have ice conditions that are much improved over several weeks ago. Ice thickness varies from 5 to 10 inches throughout the area and the ability to get around on the ice is just about as good as it gets.
Some lakes have a little slush in areas, mostly on the north side of lakes where wind formed snow drifts along the shorelines. With little slush, this bodes well for ice fishing in the weeks to come. It is very much an improvement over last year at this time.
