Letter to Editor:

This letter is in response to the town of Three Lakes’ proposal to allow all-terrain vehicle (ATVs) on some town roads.

As in Vilas County,  it seems that the ATV clubs always bring up these proposals in the winter when the out-of-state landowners are gone. I only have two questions:

1. Who will be paying the added town liability insurance premium money if this proposal goes through? I checked this out and was told that due to the increased exposure, premiums would be “affected,” which is insurance talk for more money.

2. If adopted, whose job will it be to take down the sign that says “Welcome to Three Lakes — The Best Small Town” in the United States?
