Herbert A. Kuehling passed from this life into his eternal home on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Albert and Frances (née Phitzmeier) Kuehling.

He attended public school in Chicago, until his parents purchased Edgewater Beach Resort on Lac Vieux Desert in 1941.

He was a student at Phelps High School and graduated in 1946. He also served in the U.S. Army for two years.

He was married in 1951 to Carol (née Andrus), and together joined in operating the resort with his parents.

His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife and three sons, Gary, of Eagle River, Wis., Craig (Chris) of Conover, Wis., and Bruce, of Weston, Wis.; and granddaughter, Cheryl Kuehling.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Hope Lutheran Church, Land O’ Lakes, Wis., at 11 a.m., with Pastor Gary Albert officiating.
