Paul R. Carlson, age 58, of Rhinelander, formerly of Eagle River and Conover, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at his home.

He was born Nov. 13, 1954, to Carl and Esther (Danielson) Carlson in Youngstown, Ohio.

Paul went to elementary school in Conover, and graduated high school in 1973, in the Chicago area.

He worked as an auto mechanic, food service route sales and at Walmart.

Paul enjoyed boating, fishing and automobile racing. He especially loved spending time with family and friends.

Paul is survived by his brother, Wes (Fran) Carlson of Evanston, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Roger Johnson, of Clarendon Hills, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Linnea Johnson.
