Children’s author visits fourth-grade class

Connie Falk, a local author, visited students in Mr. Mark Deditz’s fourth-grade class at St. Germain Elementary School on Jan. 17. Falk read from her first fiction novel, “Gold Stars and Daydreams.”

Falk, 74 years old, wrote the book over 25 years ago, “I was moving to St. Germain to take care of my mother who was ill and when I opened a drawer in an old dresser, I found the manuscript for ‘Gold Stars.’ I read from the book everyday to my mother and she helped me come up with names for the characters. The book was finally published Dec. 28, 2010 and appears on Amazon and Barnes and Noble,” Falk told the children.
