| NPHS students to perform ‘Footloose’ |

Northland Pines High School (NPHS) will present the 1980s dance musical “Footloose” in performances scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 and Saturday, Feb. 9 and at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, in the NPHS auditorium. This is the fourth annual musical production at NPHS. The show is directed by NPHS Choral Director Kate Janssen, Pit Orchestra Director Jennifer Anderson with assistance from student directors Taylor Haugen, Heather Klein and Kirsten Klessig. The musical is set in early 1980s Bomont, a small western town, where Ren McCormack, a Chicago transplant, is stunned to learn that dancing is not allowed anywhere within the town limits. Ren finds himself drawn to Rev. Shaw’s rebellious daughter, Ariel, and vows to “take on the town” and incites a revolution by his classmates to throw |
