Eagles duel Mosinee defense in hard-fought 36-28 victory

The Northland Pines girls basketball team battled Mosinee Friday night and in the end, the Eagles escaped with a 36-28 victory.

The Eagles improved to 11-0 overall and 6-0 in the Great Northern Conference (GNC) after playing each conference opponent once.

“We anticipated a very competitive contest coming into this matchup,” said Pines coach Larry Bergum. “Mosinee was tied for second in the GNC with Medford.  The Indians were ranked number one in defense, number one in rebounding and third in offense in GNC statistics.
