| All town roads eyed for ATV route system |
|
By Anthony Drew News-Review Asst. Editor A public input meeting on a proposed plan to turn some town roads into all-terrain vehicle (ATV) routes filled every seat in the Three Lakes Community Building last Thursday, and the majority of attendees appeared to support the idea. The plan was put forth by the Three Lakes Nicolet ATV?Club at a Three Lakes Plan Commission meeting in December. The Plan Commission and the Three Lakes Town Board held the joint meeting last week to hear public input on the proposal. Club member Mark Kirby kicked the meeting off with a slide-show presentation, which listed town businesses in support of the routes, asserted the positive economic impact ATVs could bring to the town, and aimed to discredit concerns regarding ATV exhaust emissions, noise pollution and enforcement of ATV?laws.
