Town board approves logging contract

The St. Germain Town Board approved a logging contract for town property and the funding for the golf course at a special meeting Jan. 18.

According to Town Chairman Walter Camp, Chris Klessig Logging was asked for a contract to remove trees from about 58 acres of town property adjacent to the golf course.

None of the supervisors had seen the contract prior to the meeting. Camp proceeded to read the contract aloud.

“The contract stipulates that Klessig Logging will give the town a $1,000 deposit as evidence of his intention
