The North Lakeland Education Foundation will hold its fifth annual Candlelight Ski, Snowshoe & Skate Friday, Feb. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m., headquartered at the North Lakeland Ice Hockey Hut behind North Lakeland School located at the corner of Highways P and K.

The foundation held its first Candlelight Ski, Snowshoe and Skate event in 2009 at North Lakeland to raise funds for the Bill Sherer Memorial Leadership Scholarship.

This scholarship was initiated in 2008 by the foundation to carry on the legacy of Bill Sherer, North Lakeland’s District Administrator from 1970-’88. Mr. Sherer is remembered by North Lakeland alumni and staff as an influential leader and a role model for those around him.
