By Gene Adamovich Special to the News-Review The Eagle River Falcons traveled to Vernon Hills, Ill., for a rematch against the Capitals, who handed the visitors a 7-4 defeat. The Falcons, coming off of a 3-1 home win two weeks earlier, were looking for a sweep of the first-place Capitals. The two teams rostered five of the top 10 point leaders in the Great Lakes Hockey League, which displayed plenty of fire power in a game both teams needed.
