Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 241 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 23 vehicle accidents, four requests for an ambulance, one abandoned vehicle, three requests for agency assistance, two at­tempts to locate, five burglar alarms, one battery, 15 requests for citizen assistanc, five reports of domestic violence, six re­ports of hazardous conditions, two harassment complaints, two disturbances, three reports of suspicious circumstances, two thefts, five traffic violations, one vacation check, two welfare checks, 21 911 hang-ups, two reports of a missing person, one ATV?violation, two drug problems, two reports of

operating a snowmobile while intoxicated and five snowmobile accidents.


At least 22 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 18 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least nine people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including three for operating while intoxicated, three for disorderly conduct, two for probation violation, one for operating after revocation and one for bail jumping.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 55 to 59. As of Feb. 4, there were 59 inmates.


Sunday, Feb. 3

- 11:50 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway G near Boot Lake Road in the town of Cloverland involving Deborah C. Heller of Eagle River.

Saturday, Feb. 2

- 10:42 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 70 near Shorewood Acres Drive in the town of Lincoln involving Denise L. King of Rhinelander, who was cited for inattentive driving.

- 7:40 a.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported on Kentuck Lake Road near Big Frank Road in Phelps involving Morgan T. Munnik of St. Germain.

Thursday, Jan. 31

- 6:49 a.m. - A two-vehicle accident was reported on Highway 45 near Highway E?in Land O’ Lakes involving Kevin E. Frisque of Eagle River and Lee R. Baillargeon of Conover.


Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported three vehicle accidents, one alarm, two requests for an ambulance, three animals at large, one request for agency assistance, one disturbance, one hazard, one welfare check, one juvenile problem, three parking problems, one warrant pickup, one service, three snowmobile violations, one instance of trespassing and one vehicle in a ditch.
