Phelps fishing tourney breaks attendance record

The Phelps Lions Club recently held its 27th annual Great Northern Ice Fishing Tournament on Lac Vieux Desert, setting an all-time record for the number of participants with 200 registered anglers.

“This was our most successful tournament in our 27-year history,” said Lions President Mike McAdams.

There were contests for $100 both in the morning and afternoon for the largest fish caught in each category.
