Mary Collette Wells, 80, a 27-year resident of Land O’ Lakes, Wis., and a former resident of Mundelein, Ill., died peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare All Saints in Racine, Wis., on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013.
Carole was born on March 9, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late James and Collette (née Curran) Bond. She was raised by her mother, Collette, and stepfather, Erwin H. Weidner.
Carole was married to her husband, Kenneth L. Wells, on Dec. 29, 1951, in Waukegan, Ill.She was a proud homemaker, and enjoyed caring for her family and their home. She loved to read and cook.
Carole was an expert seamstress with many talents that included arts and crafts. She loved outings with family and friends that included travel, camping and playing cards.
While living in Mundelein she worked as a teacher’s aide, caring for handicapped children at Carl Sandburg School.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Sheets of Racine; her four children, Christine Wells of Denver, Colo., Jeffrey (Jan) Wells of Appleton, Wis., Eileen (Mark) Erickson of New London, Wis., and William (Renee) Wells of Twin Lakes, Wis.; her nine grandchildren, Jamie Andrules, Carie (Jason) Brock, Tony Andrules, Michael (Beth) Wells, Jason (Anna) Wells, Jonathan (Megan) Wells, Lynnsey Erickson, Porter Wells and Reese Wells; and her three great-grandchildren, Madison Brock, Tucker Brock and Russell Wells.
Memorial services were held Feb. 19, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lake Geneva, Wis., with Pastors Mary Ann and Mark Moller-Gunderson presiding. Cemetery services will be private.
Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church have been suggested.
