Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 293 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 37 vehicle accidents, three requests for an ambulance, three animal problems, three requests for agency assistance, three at­tempts to locate, two burglar alarms, two batteries, one burglary, 17 requests for citizen assistance, one report of criminal damage to property, two reports of domestic violence, one fire, one lost person, six re­ports of hazardous conditions, four juvenile problems/runaways, one harassment complaint, six reports of suspicious circumstances, 10 thefts, six traffic violations, one threat, one vacation check, six welfare checks, 18 911 hang-ups, two reports of operating while intoxicated, four snowmobile accidents and two drug problems.

In the past week, at least 12 people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including two for operating while intoxicated, one for probation violation, one for operating after revocation, three for operating a snowmobile while intoxicated, one for operating without a license, two for theft and one for disorderly conduct.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 58 to 62. As of Feb. 25, there were 60 inmates.

 

Sunday, Feb. 24

- 6:22 p.m. - A one-vehicle accident was reported at 2560 South Shore Road in Phelps involving Dustin R. Pace of Eagle River.

Friday, Feb. 22

- 8:15 a.m. - A?one-vehicle accident was reported on Lost Lake Drive near Birch Springs Drive in St. Germain involving Rachael E. Hall of Beloit.

 

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least nine calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded two vehicle accidents, one animal problem, two requests for citizen assistance, one suspicious circumstance, one traffic violation, one report of operating while intoxicated and one report of operating a snowmobile while intoxicated.

 

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported two 911 hang-ups, one vehicle accident, four requests for an ambulance, one request for motorist assistance, one request for agency assistance, one report of domestic violence, one welfare check, one informational report, one parking violation, one report of reckless driving, one service, three snowmobile violations, three suspicious circumstances, four traffic stops, one instance of trespassing, one instance of vandalism and seven vehicles in a ditch.
