Candidate forum set March 6 PDF Print E-mail

The Demmer Memorial Library board of trustees will continue its tradition of sponsoring a candidate forum Wednesday, March 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts.

The forum will feature candidates for Three Lakes town board supervisor, treasurer, chairman and school board.

The intent of the forum is to help inform the citizenry of the positions of the candidates on issues that affect Three Lakes in anticipation of the Tuesday, April 2, election.

The candidates for town treasurer will be featured at 6:30 p.m. The candidates for treasurer are Janet Hintz and Ginger Wallschlaeger.

At 7 p.m., the candidates for town board supervisor will take the stage. Four candidates are running for two supervisor positions on the board. Incumbent William Martineau is running along with Andy Beach, Collette Sorgel and Pat Volk.

The town chairman candidates will be introduced at 7:30 p.m. Incumbent Don Sidlowski is being challenged by Stella Westfall.

To wrap up the evening’s events, the candidates for Three Lakes School Board will answer questions and concerns.

There are four candidates running for two seats on the board. The four candidates are incumbents Terry McCloskey and John Olkowski Jr., and challengers Kari Volk and Steven Garbowicz.

Questions for the candidates may be submitted in advance. They may be dropped off at the library or emailed to the library at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Questions will also be taken from the floor the evening of the forum. The moderator for the evening will be Erica Brewster, Oneida County UW-Extension.

After opening statements, each candidate will be given an opportunity to respond to each question. Following the forum, the Friends of the Demmer Library will provide refreshments and there will be an opportunity to meet the candidates.
