Harvey P. Wasikowski, age 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at his home in Phelps, Wis.
He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Aug. 9, 1928, to his parents, Paul and Mary (Olszewski) Wasikowski.
He was employed at Ladich Co. in Cudahy, Wis., in the metallurgy department for almost 40 years.Harvey was married in 1953, to Rosemary Krajnak.
He retired in Phelps in 1987.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Phelps and the Phelps VFW Post.
Harvey enjoyed ice fishing, woodworking and cooking.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, in 2009; brother, Robert Wasikowski; sisters, Alice Prondzinski and Irene Watts.
He is survived by daughters, Patricia (Donald) Pfeiffer of Rhinelander, Wis., Barbara (Daniel) Riva of Eagle, Wis., Nancy (Robert Oritz) Strackbein of Tallahassee, Fla., and Judy (Paul) Lucas of Phelps; grandchildren, Frank (Rebecca) Maio, Vincent Riva, Eric Strackbein, Lena Strackbein, Chad (Katie) Lucas and Alexis Lucas; and great-grandchildren, Jay and Macy Maio, and Kylee Strackbein.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Phelps. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Father Robert Koszarek will preside.
