|City OKs grant for library project|
Final paperwork to apply for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public facilities project for library expansion and renovation was approved by the Eagle River City Council during a special meeting last week.
City Administrator Joe Laux said the city could apply for the maximum $500,000 that could add to the private funds being raised by the library foundation toward the $1.8 million project.“Our next step is to have the city identify a need and indicate consideration of the grant request,” Laux explained to the council. “If we are awarded the grant, we would have 90 days to encumber the funds.
