|Vilas County reviews plowing policy|

With frequent snow falls dominating recent winter weather, the Vilas County Highway Committee reviewed its winter road maintenance policy last week.
Vilas County Highway Commissioner Jarred Maney told the committee the county policy is that state highways will be maintained to Department of Transportation standards by plowing and salting seven days a week.
Maney said when temperatures are very cold, salt does not work and therefore sand is used on the roadways.The commissioner said he may modify the policy as needed, with the sheriff’s
