Likes Sidlowski for town chair PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

With another Three Lakes election coming up April 2, we would like to encourage all of our neighbors to take the time to make informed decisions going to the ballot box.

If you are unsure of who is running and why, there will be a candidates’ forum this Wednesday, March 6, at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts starting at 6:30 p.m., where you can hear from the candidates themselves. An excellent opportunity.

With regard to town chairman, after careful consideration and lengthy discussions with our current chairman, we recommend re-electing Don Sidlowski. There are several reasons we endorse Mr. Sidlowski, not the least of which are his incredible dedication of time and effort to advancing the interests of the community and addressing our technology needs, but most importantly, we endorse Mr. Sidlowski for his commitment to letting everyone’s voice be heard in an orderly and fair manner. We have not seen him fail to do his homework on any issue.

Our preferences on decisions are not always in line with his and/or those of the board, but that’s okay; that’s how democracy works. Our town has made significant advancements during his tenure and we’d like to see it continue. Thank you.

Really Kristie? You voted for Walker twice and yet support Chairman Sidlowski to keep his seat despite signing a petition to recall a sitting governor of a state for attempting to lessen the burdon on taxpayers?

Are you a public service union member?

Do you enjoy paying taxes?

Are you really sure you voted for Scott "save the taxpayers money" Walker twice? You are not just making that up? I guess we could public record search you and find out your true story.

If you did vote for the Governor, WHY? It seems a contradiction to me to vote for Governor Walker and yet support Chairman Sidlowski. Seems if I supported Chairman Sidlowski, I would have throw my hat in with Tax Em Tom Barrett.

I agree with the Kerns. Don has accomplished and invested much effort in time, research, networking, vision and results-driven economic development outcomes for our future. And I voted enthusiasticall y for Scott Walker in both the election and recall election. But for local ground-tested hard work in Three Lakes, Don is my choice.

Why have I never read about this in the Vilas County News-Review? This should have been a front page story a few months ago.

Is our newspaper withholding this info intentionally? Is there no reporter for the VCNR with a "nose for news?"

Mr. Editor, your comments here please.

Are you kidding? Mr. Sidlowski signed a recall petition against the Governor of this state, Scott Walker, who was trying to save taxpayer money.

If Mr. Sidlowski had his way, property taxes for every property in Three Lakes would have risen dramatically. Why would I vote for someone who loves higher taxes on his own citizens he is suppose to be representing?

An uninformed electorate is a dangerous electorate. Get informed and vote.

Don and Denise, you claim that Mr Sidlowski lets "everyone’s voice be heard in an orderly and fair manner."

Why then did Mr Don Sidlowski sign the Governor Walker recall petition? Why did he not only sign it, but his wife was a circulator of the petition.

Did the Governor's voice as well as over 1 million Wisconsinites that voted for Gov. Walker get heard by Chairman Sidlowski?

Perhaps Chairman Sidlowski only was hearing the voices of the public union employee. After all, why should the union for the public workers take a pay cut in difficult economic times when the taxpayer funds their cadillac benefit and salaries.

Perhaps Mr. Sidlowski doesn't hear the voices of the poor overburdened TAXPAYER of Three Lakes. Perhaps it is time for a change.

"we endorse Mr. Sidlowski for his commitment to letting everyone’s voice be heard in an orderly and fair manner. We have not seen him fail to do his homework on any issue"

Apparently you weren't around during the single family rental proposal forwarded by Mr. Sidlowski and subsequently squashed by concerned citizens.
