By Ken Anderson News Correspondent Making Vilas County government more efficient by restructuring county board committees may be possible, but will not come easily, according to the message from Legislative & Judicial Chairman Chris Mayer to his committee members last week. “We want to cut the budget, but how?” Mayer started out asking. “Our motivation is efficiency, but that could lead to supervisor salary rather than per diem and instead of committee meetings up to six times a month it could be two or three.” Micromanaging by the county committees also is an issue, |
