Letter to the Editor: The residents of the town of St. Germain have an opportunity coming up in this next election to make a real and positive change for the good of our town. Most of you know, I am a former town chairwoman and have lived here all of my life. I want what is best for our town and I feel that the direction of the town under Chairman Walt Camp is the wrong direction. His leadership has created a one-man show, not a well- run board working together for the good of the town. Being a town chairman, you need to have your own ideas, but you also need to work with the other members of the board so that everyone’s opinions and concerns are dealt with; all five board members are elected by town citizens and represent all of us.This coming election, our town has the opportunity to vote for a new town chairman, two fresh faces for supervisor positions on the board and a new town clerk. After 42 years of the same town clerk, it is time for a new one. It is also time for an audit of the town’s financial records and also the procedures that are in place. On April 2, go to the polls and vote for a real change that will make a difference in our town. I support Alan Albee, Tom Christensen, Ed Siergiej and John Vojta. Peggy Nimz St. Germain |
