Eagle River utility hits 115 years old

It was the village of Eagle River that constructed the dam and installed an electrical generating unit at Otter Rapids Dam on the Wisconsin River 115 years ago to bring electricity to Eagle River.

At the time, the dam and the power it generated also served St.Germain and Minocqua.

The dam was eventually sold to Wisconsin
