|Opposes motor-trolling proposal|
Letter to the Editor:
If you are against the implementation of the new statewide motor trolling rule, including Vilas and Oneida counties, the most important action you can take is to vote against this rule at the spring hearing to be held Monday, April 8, starting at 7 p.m.
Voting is now a simple procedure. You need not spend more than a few minutes at the hearing. As you enter, you will be given two ballots. The white ballot is the one you need to vote on the rule changes presented by the Department of Natural Resources. The motor trolling statewide is rule change No. 6. All you have to do is come to the meeting and mark your ballot “no” for rule No. 6, turn in your ballot and leave. You do not have to vote on any other proposals or stay at the meeting if you so desire.
It is very important that we have a very large turnout, and vote against this proposed rule change.
Regardless if your motivation is to protect our already stressed muskie resource, or to protect your lake from possible motor boat invasion, we need to have an overpowering “no” vote.
The locations of the spring hearings in our counties are:
—?Oneida County, James Williams Middle School, located at, 915 Acacia Lane, Rhinelander; and
—?Vilas County, St. Germain Elementary School gymnasium, located at, 8234 Hwy. 70 West, St. Germain.
