Remember to thank those who sacrificed PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

This is and has been weighing on my heart for a long time.

I was in a well-known store with a lot of shoppers, and past me walked two of our bravest in Army uniform. I?called out to them and told them, “Thank you for your service.” They replied, “Thank you, ma’am.”

As they walked on, I watched to see how many of the people they passed would take the time to say “thank you” to those young men. Not one said anything to them; everyone was busy doing their own thing.

Shame on us as individuals and as a nation. Without them giving of themselves and protecting our freedom, we couldn’t even get in our cars and go shopping.

We have become a very selfish, self-centered nation. The next time you have the privilege to see a person in uniform, stop and thank them. Remember, without our men and women in uniform and without their sacrifice, and our Lord Jesus Christ, this nation would be without any hope at all.

God bless all of you who protect and defend our freedom. God bless you and may God bless America.
