Big business taking jobs away from Americans PDF Print E-mail

Letter to the Editor:

To the big businesses and unions:

Shame on you both for agreeing to take more American jobs away from taxpaying Americans.

Not only do we send our American jobs out to other countries —?manufacturing, clothing industry and most other jobs not mentioned — now we are giving visa immigrant workers equal wages to the pay of American workers in similar jobs.

What about our unemployed Americans? What about our veterans who need jobs? This is nothing more than greed on the businesses and the unions who employ these immigrants.

They keep saying no American workers would take these jobs. Hog wash! Give them the same consideration as the new immigration bill will give the immigrants — the pay the new bill will give them.

What about taxes? Will the immigrants pay taxes, or is that another deal made?

Hi my liberal friends. Note how the USA stacks up to other countries when it comes to corporate income tax rate:

Ever wonder why US based companies doing business in foreign lands set up for foreign subs? Also, do u know even remotely know the cost to ship a Cat bulldozer from IL to China?

Start:

Jeff,

Over the weekend I conducted an open-minded analysis of all of your comments and decided I have no choice but to concede the point you repeatedly stated, which insisted: “immigrants (legal or otherwise) do pay federal, state and local taxes.”

Unfortunately, my initial negative reaction originated from making more out of your words than what you actually put forth. Thus, I erroneously labeled your position as “intellectually dishonest.”

With that said though, the real reason I jumped to that conclusion in the first place is that I failed to remember the undeniable fact that the people of this nation live life according to the principles of conservatism and cherish American exceptionalism, thereby, rendering your comments akin to a belated April Fools’ Day prank, anyways.

I forgot the American people oppose foreigners entering illegally and then gaming the system on the taxpayer’s dime.

They demand that any new immigration laws first and foremost, secure the border and deny amnesty as well as all federal handouts, particularly food stamps and healthcare.

The legislation must be constructed on a foundation which teaches the original American idea of self-reliance over welfare, assimilation over multiculturalis m, imposes fines and background checks, and grants citizenship only after one invests a considerable number of years on probation demonstrating they truly want to become an American.

Illegals should be taught to understand that Americans wholeheartedly support the original intent of the Constitution and limited government which, while compassionately providing specific essential safety nets, categorically condemns the proliferation of a nanny state which unjustly profits able-bodied freeloaders at the expense of responsible and self-reliant individuals.

And while I’m at it, illegals should know up front that Americans flat-out reject the Obama administration and its socialist tendencies especially the most egregious, un-American abominations of Obamacare and the new Common Core government-dictated K-12 education curriculum supported by the United Nations as well as a host of closet-communists working behind the scenes in this country to control their kids.

It is these unwavering convictions that assure Americans will never rest until their culture is returned to its traditional, faith-based, pro-life values that are wholly responsible for creating the only system in history that fosters a purposeful, prosperous life for all people willing to follow the moral blueprint of equal opportunity, personal responsibility, hard work, self-reliance, individualism and charitable giving.

In retrospect, your factually correct statement did not betray the conservative principles Americans live by.

So Jeff, as an expression of our ideological solidarity, how about meeting sometime at one of the upcoming Scott Walker re-election rallies that people all across Wisconsin will be attending, or if you prefer, at one of America’s beloved, religious houses of worship?

Commie Check and Common Core:

Please do not blow this off. It goes right to the heart of what this culture is going through.

Common Core Promoter, communist-sounding (benefit of the doubt, for now), Melissa Harris-Perry speaks again and doubles-down on her original comments by affirming: “This is about whether we as a society, expressing our collective will through our public institutions, including our government, have a right to impinge on individual freedoms in order to advance a common good.”

“… to impinge on individual freedoms in order to advance a common good.” – Melissa Harris-Perry/ (Karl Marx?)

From MSNBC - Microsoft National Broadcasting Company (Bill Gates is the financial kingpin in Common Core.

Initial promotion which created the uproar as well as the latest TV segment.

Frank
Thanks for the rejection letter; I expected nothing less.

It is unfortunate that Gene has not responded to my original comment. Still, I agree with you that he was probably referring to federal taxes (although not exclusively so.) Regardless. the record is clear: illegal immigrants pay taxes. Even your own references from the Fiscal Times admit as much -- although you chose to include only the negative, while ignoring the positive points the FT was also making.

I have made it clear (or so I thought) that I acknowledge the controversy over the net economic impact of this issue, which is what you, Denny, Carl, and Gene are most concerned with. That is a fair debate to have, but it does not detract from my basic (and really only) point that taxes of all kinds are in fact being paid by this group.

Carl, all you need to do is look at endorsements to get an idea of which way a paper leans. And I know my history quite well thanks you. Unions did much more than merely organize. The pushed for standards in construction, worker safety programs which lead o more people not taking off time from injuries and more so yes....they did help build this country. When you refer to union bosses you need get your head outside of the Jimmy Hoffa syndrome. 99% of union presidents are merely the men and women that take on the job with little to no thanks and most of the time the only pay being not have to pay the monthly dues. It's not a lucrative or power position by any means and more of a thankless job that takes them away from their family time more often than not. Your last statement makes no sense and merely demonstrates ideology over reality.

Denny,
Immigrants (legal or otherwise) do pay these kinds of taxes. I did not imply anything beyond that. There is nothing in this statement that leads to the less-than-clear inferences you mention. I am not arguing tax fairness or equality of payment or treatment -- and will readily agree that there are issues that need to be addressed. But as a simple matter of fact, these "kinds of taxes" (including federal taxes, Frank) are being paid.

And, again, do your own research. If you don't care for the samples I gave you, go find your own from whatever sources you deem credible. If your sources tell you that illegal immigrants pay no taxes please be sure to let me know, and I will be glad to apologize for the error of my ways.
