Vilas County Sheriff

A total of 251 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.

In addition to those with sufficient detail to report be­low, a review shows at least 24 vehicle accidents, one request for an ambulance, three animal problems, four requests for agency assistance, four at­tempts to locate, four burglar alarms, eight requests for citizen assistance, three reports of criminal damage to property, one report of domestic violence, seven re­ports of hazardous conditions, three juvenile problems/runaways, five disturbances, three reports of suspicious circumstances,

three thefts, seven traffic violations, one threat, five vacation checks, four welfare checks, 18 911 hang-ups, seven reports of operating while intoxicated, four drug problems and two reports of elections violations.

 

At least 11 calls were re­ferred to the Eagle River Police De­partment and there were at least 19 informational or procedural entries.

In the past week, at least 14 people were booked at the Vilas County Jail, including four for disorderly conduct, three for operating while intoxicated, one for possession of paraphernalia, one for operating after revocation, one for failure to appear, one for failure to pay, one for possession of prescription drugs and one for probation violation.

During the week, the in­mate population ranged from 56 to 67. As of April 8, there were 65 inmates.

 

Eagle River Police

Among the calls received by Vilas County dispatchers were at least 27 calls for the Eagle River Police. These in­cluded one 911 hang-up, two vehicle accidents, one request for agency assistance, one burglar alarm, one request for an ambulance, three requests for citizen assistance, one civil complaint, one report of disorderly conduct, one disturbance, one drug problem, one report of found property, one gas drive-off, one harassment complaint, one warrant confirmation, one juvenile problem, one loitering complaint, one lost person, two reports of operating while intoxicated, one suicide attempt, one report of suspicious circumstances, one theft, one hazard and one unsecure premise.

 

Three Lakes Police

This police department re­ported one 911 misuse, three ambulance requests, one request for motorist assistance, two requests for agency assistance, one fire, one threat, one hazard, 12 house checks, two informational reports, two scams, one service, three suspicious circumstances, five traffic stops and one instance of vandalism.
