|March was sixth-safest since ’45 for road deaths|
In terms of traffic deaths, last month was tied for the sixth-safest March in Wisconsin since World War II, according to preliminary statistics from the Department of Transportation (DOT).
The safest March occurred in 2010 with 23 fatalities, while the deadliest month of March was in 1970 with 99 fatalities.
Last month, 33 people died in 29 traffic crashes, which was two more traffic fatalities than March 2012 and five more than the five-year average for the month of March.As of March 31, a total of 103 people have
