Ministry reminds residents to choose advance directives

Ministry Health Care recently reminded local communities about the importance of advance directives in recognition of National Healthcare Decisions Day.

There are more options in healthcare technology than ever before, but someone may not always be physically able to choose the treatment they want, according to Lisa Becker of Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital.

“For this reason it is important to plan in advance for future medical choices,” she said. “One of the most important factors in formulating your advance directives is choosing your health-care agent.”

A healthcare agent is someone who understands a patients
