Snow and cold delay ice out on area lakes

The last week was more of the same weatherwise, with snow, rain and very unseasonable cold weather keeping the arrival of spring at bay.

As far as getting rid of the lake ice, nothing was accomplished in the last week. While this is getting frustrating, we all know it has to change some time, doesn’t it? Looking ahead, the long-range forecast is for high temperatures in the 50s Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which means we actually might start seeing some of that black ice on the lakes.

With all the rain the North Woods has had,
