Pines returns 14 in girls soccer


Open season with 1-0 win at Mosinee

The Northland Pines girls soccer team will put 14 returning letterwinners on the field this spring, a team that will try to improve on last year’s 4-6-2 record in the Great Northern Conference (GNC).

The Eagles were 6-10-5 overall last season, but lost four key players off of that team, according to head coach Wendy McCormack.

Pines lost graduates Sammy Pusateri, a big presence in the midfield, and Katrina Tameling and Kim Van Brunt on the defensive end.  In addition, junior Caitlin Riley transferred to a Minnesota boarding
