Eagles start with 1-4 mark PDF Print E-mail

After a delayed start due to the late spring, the Northland Pines softball team opened the season with a 1-4 record, according to first-year coach Mike Cox.

“The girls have been playing hard, but just can’t get the feel of outside when we practiced inside all the time,” said Cox.

The Eagles lost to Medford and Antigo each twice in Great Northern Conference (GNC) play and then beat Phelps 17-3 in a nonconference game play on a muddy field in Rhinelander.

The Eagles were scheduled to play at Mosinee on Tuesday of this week and will host Tomahawk in a doubleheader this Thursday, May 9, starting at 5 p.m.
