Eagle boys win home track invite against nine teams

The Northland Pines High School boys track team put an exclamation point on its successful indoor season by defeating all nine teams that converged on the field house last Tuesday for the Eagle Invite.

Pines won with 164 points, followed by Tomahawk with 107.5, Houghton, Mich., with 88, Rhinelander with 77, Hurley with 52, Wakefield-Marinesco with 42, Wabeno with 34, Mercer with 19.5, Watersmeet, Mich., with 6 and Three Lakes with 3.

Six inches of snow on the southern corner of the outdoor track prevented the Eagles from holding the meet outside.
