Many Ways of Peace to present The Beehive Design Collective

Many Ways of Peace in Eagle River announced it will present “The True Cost of Mining for Jobs” Thursday, May 23, at 6:30 p.m. The Beehive Design Collective of Machias, Maine will be bring their interactive, graphics-based lecture to Many Ways of Peace with a focus on mining in Wisconsin.

Previously, the group presented a lecture dealing with mining in Appalachia. Over three years in the making, “The True Cost of Coal” is a collaboratively-made, allegorical illustration brought to life by the bees themselves, who are volunteer activists, storytellers and educators who use hand-drawn cartoons and stories from grassroots communities to explore the connections between our local, everyday stories and the bigger picture.
