Three Lakes eighth-graders tour Washington, D.C.

Thirty-six Three Lakes eighth-graders recently participated in a hands-on learning experience that expanded their horizons in many different ways. The entire Three Lakes High School Class of 2017 raised $40,000 together in order to fund a class trip to Washington, D.C., from May 10-13.

Many of the Three Lakes students had never been out of Wisconsin or on an airplane. This trip accomplished those two hurdles and many more.

Learning experiences included visiting the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, which was a culmination of language arts and history units on World War II, the Kennedy Center for the Arts, the Smithsonian
