Melvin L. Brown, age 90, of Wausau, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1922, in Eagle River, to the late Ormel and Josephine (Schimek) Brown.
He attended school in Eagle River at both the grade school and high school. He graduated in 1944, and became a member of the U.S. Air Force stationed in England during World War II.
After service, he was employed at First National Bank in Eagle River until his retirement.
He married Rachel Kintzi on Dec. 26, 1946, in Mountain Lake, Minn.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Brown of Wausau; daughters, Marsha (Don) Kaehler of Keizer, Ore., and Renette Casey of Weston; a son, Jeffrey (Joyce) Brown of St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren, Scott (Janice) Casey of Cleveland, Ohio, Clint (Beth) Casey of Oshkosh, Jenny (Andrew) Beilke of Florida, Kristina Brown of Los Alamos, N.M., and Andrew Brown of St. Paul; and two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Gavin Casey of Cleveland.
Private family services were held.
