State timber sales will get published, says Joint Finance

The Wisconsin Newspaper Association (WNA) was successful in removing language from the state budget that would have eliminated state timber sale public notices from newspapers, according to Beth Bennett, executive director of the WNA.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ (DNR) proposed budget included a plan that would eliminate public notices in newspapers announcing the sale of state-owned timber in the county where the timber is being sold.
The request to remove the plan from the state budget received unanimous support from the members of the Joint Finance Committee (JFC).
